Have a play with clay!

This is a taster session where you can explore your creative side in a quiet, relaxed and friendly environment.  The session will be slow paced and on a one to one basis.

​

In our time together you will create a small piece or a collection of small pieces using hand building techniques such as pinching, using slabs, and/ or coils.

​

This session can be tailored to your interests.  In the past I have supported individuals to make a soap dish, a fairy house, ring dishes, cane toppers, herb name markers. 

​

After the session the piece(s) will dry (for around 2 weeks). I will then fire the piece(s) in my kiln, glaze the piece(s) for you and then fire it/them again.  The piece(s) will be ready for collection around  3-4 weeks after your session, or I can arrange posting the piece(s) to you for a small fee (£3.50-£4.50 depending on the weight of the piece(s).

Cost includes time playing, all materials, firing and glazing.

**Please note there is no wheel throwing available in the session.

​

**There may be an extra charge for materials if you wish to make a large-scale piece.

​

**Most suited to children over the age of 5 years.  Children under 16 years need to be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

This session can be tailored to your interests.  In the past I have supported couples to make plant pots, soap dish and tooth-brush holder, ring dishes, vases, love spoons, salt/ pepper pots,

After the session the pieces will dry (for around 2 weeks). I will then fire the pieces in my kiln, glaze the pieces for you and then fire them again.  The pieces will be ready for collection around  3-4 weeks after your session, or I can arrange posting the pieces to you for a small fee (£3.50-£4.50 depending on the weight of the pieces.)

Have you caught the pottery bug and want to follow your interests and learn more over a series of sessions? 

 

Learn with like-minded others.

​

There will be a maximum of four places per session so the session will be quiet and relaxed and there will be plenty of support available for everyone.

 

During sessions you will  be introduced to a range of hand building methods like pinching, pinching, and using slabs. 

​

During the first 4 sessions you will either create a few small pieces of your choosing, or a larger more complex piece.  For example you may make a series of four small pieces e.g. bowl, vase or vessel, plant pot, tea light holder, or similar small items.  Or you may make one larger piece for example a butterfly drinking bowl, fairy house, larger or decorated box, vase or vessel.

After the first 4 sessions there will then be a short break in your sessions to allow for the piece/ pieces to dry and for them to be bisque fired in the kiln (2-3 weeks).  When the piece/pieces are fired I will contact you to arrange the next 2 sessions.  During the final 2 sessions I will support you to glaze and add surface decoration/ treatment to your piece(s).  

 

The piece(s) will be ready for collection around 2 weeks after your glazing sessions.
